Sponsors recognized for leadership in advancing environmental, economic, and community values for fourth year in a row.

BOSTON (March 26, 2024) — The Sponsors of Mass Save® are pleased to announce they received the 2024 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy for the fourth consecutive year. With this recognition, the Sponsors join a distinguished cohort of national advocates dedicated to advancing environmental, economic, and community values.

The Sustained Energy Excellence award is the highest recognition awarded by ENERGY STAR and recognizes programs demonstrating outstanding leadership, year over year. The award recognizes the Sponsors' ongoing efforts to help customers reduce energy use through the promotion of ENERGY STAR certified products, including clothes dryers, dehumidifiers, room air conditioners, windows, thermostats, heat pump water heaters and air purifiers. The award also honors their steadfast commitment to guiding Massachusetts towards a cleaner, net-zero future.

"Providing ENERGY STAR products to our customers is one of many ways we empower the Commonwealth to reduce energy use and mitigate climate impact,” said Maggie Downey, Administrator, Cape Light Compact “Our nation-leading energy efficiency programs provided more than $750 million in incentives across the state during 2023, championing a clean energy economy. The adoption of ENERGY STAR certified products through our programs contributes to a healthier environment and encourages customers and businesses across our state to do the same.”

Each year, the ENERGY STAR program honors a select group of businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to energy efficiency and the transition to a clean energy economy. ENERGY STAR award winners lead their industries in the production, sale, and adoption of energy-efficient products, homes, buildings, services, and strategies. These efforts have saved more than 5 trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity over the past 30 years.

Achievements by the Mass Save Sponsors include:

  • Executed seven online limited-time sales promotions responsible for selling ENERGY STAR certified products through the Mass Save Marketplace, a 24/7 online marketplace.
  • Incentivized the sales of more than 29,000 ENERGY STAR certified appliances and electronics through partnerships with retailers using mail-in rebates, the online marketplace and incentive programs, including:
    • 2,206 certified clothes dryers
    • 3,785 certified dehumidifiers
    • 2,956 certified room air conditioners
    • 1,308 certified windows (since July 2022)
    • 15,457 certified thermostats
    • 1,430 certified heat pump water heaters
    • 2,213 certified air purifiers
  • Worked with local communities and retailers to hold 61 dehumidifier turn-in events to collect inefficient units for recycling and promote the purchase of new ENERGY STAR certified dehumidifiers. In total, 4,527 inefficient units were collected as of October 31, 2023.

“President Biden’s Investing in America agenda creates unprecedented opportunity to build a clean energy economy, and private sector partners through programs like ENERGY STAR are leading the way,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan. “I congratulate this year’s ENERGY STAR award winners for their innovation and leadership, in delivering cost-effective energy efficient solutions that create jobs, address climate change, and contribute to a healthier environment for all.”

Winners are selected from a network of thousands of ENERGY STAR partners. For a complete list of 2024 winners and more information about ENERGY STAR’s awards program, visit energystar.gov/awardwinners.
