Mass Save® Sponsors Host More than 500 Contractors at Annual Business Partner Event

February 24, 2023

BOSTON (February 24, 2023) — Signaling a growing interest in energy efficiency programs by contractors across the commonwealth, The Sponsors of Mass Save hosted more than 550 commercial and industrial partners at their annual business partner event on February 14th.

The informative, interactive half-day virtual event provided the contractors – including heat pump installers, weatherization contractors, technicians, distributors, and more – with the information they need to successfully implement new Mass Save programs, execute the goals of the 2022-2024 Energy Efficiency Plan and develop new opportunities for their businesses.

“Each business partner plays a crucial role in implementing the Mass Save programs in support of the commonwealth’s decarbonization goals,” said Maggie Downey, Administrator of Cape Light Compact. “This annual event provides us the opportunity to engage with and receive feedback from the men and women carrying out the important work of helping businesses decarbonize so that together we can continue to create the best programs in the nation.”

In his opening remarks, Emmett Lyne, an attorney with RichMay who works closely with the Sponsors, called the attendees the “tip of the spear” in the fight to decarbonize the commonwealth. “You are the ones who are really acting, working in the field, achieving real results, building a better world, and addressing climate change for all of us,” Lyne said.

Keynote speaker, Youl Bellil, Senior Advisor, Facilities Management at Dell Technologies emphasized the importance of energy efficiency to a multinational company like Dell Technologies “[Energy Efficiency] is in our rapport, it’s institutionalized… It’s supported by leadership, and you need to have that to execute on energy conservation measures,” Bellil said. “We here at Dell really want to impact climate change and build a better world.”

The contractors will continue ongoing engagement with the Sponsors throughout the year to execute the goals of the 2022-2024 Energy Efficiency Plan.
